چکیده

In this paper we examine emergent coordination in a network of competing boolean agents. The agents play so called Generalized Minority Game where the capacity level is allowed to vary externally. We study the properties of such a system for different values of the mean connectivity of the network, and show that the system with shows a high degree of coordination for relatively large variations of the capacity level. We also show that for coordination can be achieved by tuning the homogeneity parameter of the agents’ boolean strategies.

Determination of mobile localization with time of arrival (TOA) signal is a requirement in cellular mobile communication. In some of the previous methods, localization with non-line-of-sight (NLOS) paths can lead to large position error. Also for simplicity, in most simulations suppose non stationary actual environments as stationary. This paper proposes (residual test + recursive least square)...

Coordination, intermittency and trends in generalized Minority Games

The Minority Game framework was recently generalized to account for the possibility that agents adapt not only through strategy selection but also by diversifying their response according to the kind of dynamical regime, or the risk, they perceive. Here we study the effects of this mechanism in different information structures. We show that both the stationary macroscopic properties and the dyn...

Individual and Group Selection in Symmetric 2-Player Games

A population of individuals is divided into groups. Individuals are recurrently randomly matched with individuals from their group to play a generic symmetric 2-player game. Deterministic interand intragroup dynamics are derived from a model of individual imitation within groups and individual migration between groups. Conditions are identified under which subsets (components) of the set of sta...

Market response to external events and interventions in spherical minority games

Abstract We solve the dynamics of large spherical minority games (MG) in the presence of non-negligible time-dependent external contributions to the overall market bid. The latter represent the actions of market regulators or other major natural or political events that impact on the market. In contrast to non-spherical MGs, the spherical formulation allows one to derive closed dynamical order ...

The Time Adaptive Self Organizing Map for Distribution Estimation

The feature map represented by the set of weight vectors of the basic SOM (Self-Organizing Map) provides a good approximation to the input space from which the sample vectors come. But the timedecreasing learning rate and neighborhood function of the basic SOM algorithm reduce its capability to adapt weights for a varied environment. In dealing with non-stationary input distributions and changi...
